The Earthly Matters of Cosmic Awareness with Henry Mitchell
Living Earth Youth Dialogue
The Earthly Matters of Cosmic Awareness
Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5:00–6:30 pm PST
Sharing From the Heart is a monthly initiative where young people from China and the United States come together around the pressing ecological, cultural, and spiritual issues of our time. Through sharing thoughts, personal stories, and actions in local settings, Chinese and American youth will begin building cross-cultural bonds to support a vision of a new, ecological civilization.
This dialogue, Henry Mitchell will share his vision for building a sustainable, decentralized living system guided by cosmic awareness. Henry will share his experience in building an Earthship project in Japan with the innovative Architect Mike Raynolds, who heavily influenced his academic interests, leading toward his post-graduate thesis, “The Earthly Matters of Cosmic Awareness.” It engages the concept of cosmically aware architecture and calls for a rethinking of human infrastructure systems to prioritize resilience, well-being, and sustainability.
